Good stuff for thought as expressed by all the commenters so far.

I am continually amazed at how rapidly we are peeling back the mysteries of the universe, large and small. Still, Einstein's theories hold firm, while being proven by technologies that, only 20 years ago, were either unthought of, or obscurely mentioned in science fiction. Makes me want to live longer just to see what is discovered in the next 20 years or so.

On the other hand, and you can relate to this well, I see our political leadership mired in scandal and angry personal attacks, spouting ideology with no basis in fact, courting our money, our vote, and our allegiance. Is there something wrong with this picture? Damn right there is.

Even when we try our damnest to understand all, really knowing and understand all is a very elusive and hard to catch, never mind truly understanding it all. I have, at this late time of my life, have chucked it all up in the air and just understand where I am in this life of mind. Or . . . do I really understand . . . Grrrrr

I know!!! AND trying to "get it together" to even begin to understand what in the world is really going on in any one area is the abyss. I like this.

A fine reminder that not only (Mother) Nature, the Earth, the Solar System, the Milky Way, but the very universe itself as macro-manifestation reveals much to be known, just as we (humanity) know very little, but have the capacity to observe and further have the capacity to know. Thank you for reminding us to "open our eyes", our minds, our hearts, to let some of that knowledge in. It is far to precious to ignore. John

Penning such subtle contemplation, given the environment of hostility that continues to grow around us, is indeed worthy of rereading. I continue to be taken aback by the increasing time so many spend of abbreviated thought, let alone the rapidly declining will to truly think.
