I'm moving down the highway, thinking of you,
sleeping soundly at home. I face this world for both of us
trying to shake it off when the sun goes down.
It leaves bitter grime hanging on.
Everyone speaks in defense, every one glares
in opposition and it reflects in me.
Every step you make is with purpose. Every confrontation closes
in forgiveness. Molded by the hands of Grace, you look at me
with my bitter eyes, and callused hands, loving me unconditionally.
I have shaken the skeletons in my closet.
Exposed only too you the hard core bitter sin
I have left behind every lie in the midst of laughter.
Every spiteful, vengeful act of retaliation, that slips
through the air to find, it's target. Leaving people quivering,
weeping, crying out in pain or at the boiling point of anger.
You are the clearest vision I see. Harmony and rhythm
live in your eyes. I fall in the sight of my defenses, only
to watch it dissipate at the end of the day, when I open the door.
I long even more, every day to curl up inside of you.
Making love all night long, escaping to your submissions
in the hours, the world cannot have.
I revere all the time in sunlight, in such a dark cold world.
I long for your King.
I long for the God and creator to free me,
to beg of his Mercy and Grace.
I am changing slowly and feel the dead parts
inside come alive again.
As you held me in prayer on Sunday morning.
Behind the walls of our church,
you saw the tears, streaming down my face.
You knew my soul was weeping,
and once more, you knew why.
Always forgive me, always embrace me.
Lift me up with your smile at the end of the day.
Never lose your edge. I will return your submission
and walk with you, forever.
So, the hard cold bitter world can see
the true light inside of me.
The light I see in you.
Thanks for sharing this gem!!
