Moving down the highway, thinking
of you- sleeping soundly at home.
Every step you make with purpose.
All confrontation closes in forgiveness.
I face this world for both of us. Trying-
to shake it off when the sun goes down.
It leaves bitter grime, hanging on.
Everyone speaks in defense, glares
in opposition, it reflects in me.
Molded by the hands of Grace,
you look at me with my bitter eyes,
callused hands, loving me- unconditionally.
Exposed only too you, the hard core bitter sin,
left behind every lie in the midst of laughter.
I have shaken the skeletons in my closet.
Every spiteful, vengeful act of retaliation,
slips through the air to find it's target.
Leaving people quivering, weeping,
crying out- in pain or boiling anger.
When I open the door, I fall, watching my
defenses dissipate, at the end of the day.
I see harmony, rhythm living in your eyes
You are the clearest vision. I long more
every day, to curl up, inside of you.
Making love, escaping to your submissions
in the hours, the world cannot have. I revere
the time in sunlight, in such a dark cold world.
I long for your King, God the Creator to free me,
to beg of His Mercy and Grace. I am slowly
changing inside, feeling dead parts come alive.
Sunday morning- behind walls of our Church-
you held me in prayer, tears streaming down my face.
My soul weeping, once more you knew why.
Always forgive me, always embrace me.
Lift me up with your smile. Never lose your edge.
I will return your submission, walk with you forever.
So, the hard cold bitter world can see
the true light inside of me.
The light I see in you.
