You clip your buckle, set your fuse,
You’re determined now in what you do,
Yet you’ve not a thought for those you’re going to kill,
Strangers you have never met,
That you’ll destroy without regret,
Believing you are doing Allah’s will,
Convinced by men consumed with hate,
That what you do will make you great,
And paradise will be your just reward,
Religious men that with each breath,
Condone the suffering and the death,
And preach that peace comes only by the sword,
I wonder when your deed is done,
And to your maker you have come,
Can you be sure his face will wear a smile?
Or will his eyes be filled with tears?
And his wrath echo in your ears?
At the loss of every husband, wife and child?
And if Allah in his sadness asks,
What made you walk the martyr’s path?
And knowing he will only hear the truth,
Will you in conscience still be proud,
And reply to him, with voice aloud,
“I did it because somebody told me to”?
Do you believe your virgins will,
Come to your blood stained embraces still?
Or will their faces turn as in disgust?
In your religion do you believe,
Your creator made all you can see?
And with those same hands created each of us?
I am not Muslim nor religious man,
But I believe in one almighty hand,
Who cares little about the way we say his name,
I believe he created all mankind,
With individual hearts and minds,
And in his mercy love us all the same,
I cannot believe that he would make,
A Muslim, Jew or Christian take,
Another’s life, their homeland or their wealth,
I believe his power and his plan,
Are more than we can understand,
And if he wished could kill us all himself,
So clip your buckle, set your fuse,
Pick whatever target you might choose,
But please don’t say, “It’s done for Allah’s will”.
And before you set off your device,
Look deep into your victims eyes,
And see the ones that you’re about to kill,
These parents who have no idea,
That tragedy will soon be here,
Or these children that know nothing of your cause,
The old and crippled passing by,
Not knowing they’re about to die,
And be there when you go to meet your lord,
Then ask yourself if this is right?
Do they deserve to die tonight,
Or will their deaths be far too high a price,
Is this for Allah? Or for you?
This thing that you’re about to do,
And will it really lead to paradise?
