God is always willing to carry you. When Will you surrender?

~WITH OUTSTRETCHED ARMS~

With outstretched arms I picked you up

And carried you away

For in my spirit, I heard your cry

I had waited for this day

Gently I cradled you

So you rested upon my chest

“Fear Not,” I whispered

“I come to give you rest”

Instantly you gave inTo the battle you had fought“

The battle is not yours, my child”

Is what I’ve always taught

In our exchange of words

You opened up to speak

“Forgive me Father” you started to say

But the Battle had made you weak

“Shhh,” I said in that moment

For I already understood

What the devil meant for harm

I had chosen for good

For I had come to give you life

An abundant life for sure

For I chose you to be set apart

Holy, unblemished, and pure

But along the way we lost touch

The world had won your time

But in the end we both knew

You were always mine

At one point, you stumbled

And soon lost your way

But when the struggle became too much

You knew you could always pray

And I knew I would answer

Because you were my sheep

Of all the souls that strayed away

Your soul I had to keep

“So rest now weary one”

I said as I wiped a tear

“Always know as my anointed

I haven’t given the spirit of fear”

Our eyes locked in that moment

Then you gave a gentle grin

Intrigued I smiled back at you

As I forgave you of your sins

Then lightning flashed and thunder roared

As we sat amidst the rain

I rocked you softly, sheltering you

As I washed away the stains

Then upon the crown of your head

I laid my hand that day

Now that you believe on me

Old things are passed away

Trusting in my whispered words

You drifted into a nap

And when I knew you were sound asleep

I loosened Satan’s trap

No longer would you be bound my child

No longer would you cry

To be protected from the mean old world

Is the reason I chose to die

All shackles removed you gently grinned

As your torment had finally ceased

With outstretched arms you gave your life

Then arose in a state of Peace
