As the days of life continue to turn

We all need a hand

Be it a shoulder to cry on

Or someone who understands

We all need ears to listen

So our fears can be heard

We all need a sounding board

Or a sympathetic word

We all need a foundation

When the storms of life blow

We all need encouragement

As we let our tears flow

We all need a shield of armor

Who will battle in our storms

We all need a true blue friend

Who know we aren’t the norm

We all need an umbrella

As we walk through gray skies

We all need an interpreter

To see through our lies

We all need from time to time

A place to clear our mind

We all have need of charity

When love is hard to find

We all need honesty

When we go through such trials

When all need a joke sometimes

To remind us how to smile

Yes we all have needs these days

And burdens we must bare

But my life is more complete right now

Because you’re always there

So thanks for being all these things

And so much more to me

Thanks for being a prime example
