Being a Mom is not easy

This is a known fact

Often you give everything

But never get anything back

Constantly coming and going

Trying to make ends meet

Even after all you sacrifice

There are times you don’t eat

For your children and family comes first

Then the duties of life

Your tears you must hide away

As you deal with other’s strife

But not a moment do you complain

Because this is your plight

Not knowing what will come tomorrow

You walk by faith not sight

And in the morning you start again

To do what has been willed

The bags that were emptied yesterday

Have somehow been refilled

But you press forward on your journey

Praising another day

For being a mother is a job

You’d never give away

For you love the duties given

And you cherish every child

But it would surely be nice

To hear thanks once in a while

But when thanks doesn’t come

And the duties of life pile

In the midst of the growing pains

Your children make you smile

And often this smile suffices

And drains the grief away

And just in case that’s not enough

We now have Mother’s day!
