Waiting in some timeless shell,

              covered in ashes and regret.

Reaching for a place I cannot go,

              feeling waves pulsate above me.

Watching from some distant realm,

              inhabited by lost and lonely souls.

Knowing how deeply this torment lies,

             weighing heavily upon fragile flesh.

Too swiftly the water raged,

            burying all life that remained.

And as each shred of hope faded,

            the darkness covered every tomb.
