A description of the elements. The lines in italics are taken from the books House of Night series by P.C and Kristin Cast.
Note: in Air the first line is taken from the poem Hurricane Hits England by Grace Nichols.
A flare of light ignites into a thousand tongues, howling, it demoralizes the coppice. Like a sibyl's cackle, it laughs. The smoke revolves as if small synchronized pixies dance within. Entrapped for eternity they writhe endlessly. The indistinctive heat incinerates the pure raw flesh of bone. This illuminating blaze quivers the backbone of existence. Faithful Fire I call to thee!
Blue sapphires radiate the green emeralds whilst concealed beneath a blanket of sky. The sun surfaces defiantly above the sea's horizon, the golden beam of its rays console its placid soothing waves. Mystic beings secrete cautiously below the sea bed. Wise Water I call to thee!
To endure the howling ship of the wind, it is breath taking. Whilst by standing a hurricane, fearful but reassuring it obtains her closer to the landscape. To linger for the storm, whilst the trees sustain companionship as to the draught, their synchronized limbs cause a sorrowful melody. I ensue the passage of your winds. I vociferate, but you allay it to a whisper… Authentic Air I call to thee!
You're the four seasons I adore. You bestow summer it's moist and intensity. You exploit autumn to pay remembrance of its last summer. You grant winter a white blanket to purify your surface. And spring, a duvet of blossoming flowers to accompany your translucent fields. I Inhale your sweet essence. You have created an immaculate universe. Empathetic Earth I call to thee!
Born inside a content heart, you rest. You smile upon life and mourn at death. A true being, you are the words of a lover, shooting stars fall to earth as your lips meet mine. A rose weeps as teardrops fall from its rouge petals. You incite me on every touch, smell and sight of your existence. Sincere Spirit I call to thee!
Stephie, my dear friend, I love reading your work--colorful, imaginative, bold with a touch of sensuality, and throughout a wording that captivates my reader's eye.
I am so fortunate to own and care for a lovely rose garden with 70 rose bushes, a weeping willow and many, many other beautiful plants. Perhaps that's why I love your line, "A rose weeps as teardrops fall from its rouge petals."
I frequently talk to my roses as I care for them, but it never crossed my mind that they might at times be weeping. See how your prose enhances my world!
A further collection of poems, many from years in the Middle East, but also the California San Francisco and Central Coast areas (Santa Cruz, Carmel, Big Sur, Berkeley, etc.).
