My heart goes out to the families who have lost someone because of a Drunken Driver..

Mother please don't cry for me I am safe in Heaven Life was short but thank you Mom For giving me Love and a shoulder to cry on I should have worn my seat belt I did not think this could happen to me.. I never thought that I would be the victim of a tragedy.. Someone was drinking and not thinking That I was in the car..the one that it smashed into and threw me out so far.. How could he be so careless put you through such pain Why did he have to drive like that My death was all in vein.. He did Not read the Posters He ignored the Law Driving Under the influence Now I am no More.. All my friends must suffer Everyone I knew Because of this Selfish criminal Who disobeyed the rule Take away his license..take away his keys Take away his freedom... Bring him to his knees Open up his eyes Let him see what he has done To me and my Family He should have been the one I will never see my friends again I was only fifteen... I did not live long enough to have a sweet sixteen.. I will never graduate college I will never have a career I will never have a wedding or raise a family Give my family justice.. Make him face the Death Penalty.. Show him no mercy for what he has done.. may he always see darkness and never see the sun... I know it will never bring me back But maybe it will save the life of someone else... Never Ever Drive if you have been drinking Always wear your seat belt in case someones not thinking... If you know someone like that..Take away the Keys... Call someone to pick you up No matter the time of day Think before You Drink.. Thats when it will all be clear If he hadn't driven intoxicated I would still be here... Copyright �2007 Rosalie Gattuso

Powerful yet inspiring; it is difficult to understand why people continue to drive drunk, and yet nothing seems to be done; I persnoally think they ought to revoke a person's license for driving drunk, NO exceptions instead of slapping them on the wrist and letting them drive again. Too many families have been affected by the actions of someonw who shouldn't have been behind the wheel in the first place. If they kill, charge them with manslaughter or murder; they used their car as a weapon with absolutely no regard for human life.

You have penned a most heartfelt, inspirational piece of poetry. It is difficult to understand why some insist on driving while they are so intoxicated. Thank you for sharing this.
