Today’s Economy~ vol.1
Sitting here in western Michigan feeling trapped without sight
Money is on an all time low so staying alive is a fight
There’s so much talent in people I see everyday
Some are just like me
Writing to keep sanity and praying for a payday
They sing sew paint cook comedians there is so many
Things that I can’t name them all
Sitting patiently by the phone hoping for that good paying job to call
People say any job is better than not having one
Any job didn’t pay my mortgage car payment and utilities
Now I’m sitting outside wondering
What in the hell just happened to me
When those advice-giving people said that any job is the key
Thank the Lord my children are grown
Now it’s just myself homeless and feeling all alone
I’ve owned my own home and now it’s gone
I’ve always driven a nice car now I can’t afford shoes
My feet have blisters from walking so far
Now advice giving people what do I do
You can’t help me you are on your way into
What I am going through
Now that economy has stricken you
When I needed you to listen you could not fit my shoe
When it was your neighbor you didn’t care
All you said was Life isn’t fair
Now you sit here wondering WHY ME
All along there was a place in your heart for EMPATHY

What an indictment on our "leaders." Your verses touch my soul, Stephanie... ...and they make me very sad. I send you love, peace, and my very best wishes,
