Tell me more about the war
I said to my Dad
You don't want to know my son
And I won’t tell you more
Just to say it made me sad
Sad right to the core
Tell me Dad, were you brave
When you went to fight
I told you son, I will not tell
Many men died, they're lives they gave
Fighting for what was right
Fighting in a living hell
But tell me Dad, did you kill
The enemy that you saw
Did you stab them with a bayonet?
Did you go over the hill?
Were your hands and feet red raw?
Did you cry and fret
Sure, we would cry and we would laugh
For wars a funny thing
You kill a man you do not know
You cut him clean in half
But death is something you do not sing
, boast, cry, or crow
War is futile and has no point
No future for mankind
It brings out the animal in us all
Jesus, his enemies' feet he'd anoint
For he was gentle and kind
Do you understand my son; do you get it all?
This earth is only lent to us
We cannot own it all
For we are tenants to a man
No matter how we curse and cuss
Or how many men fall
We must guard it as best we can
The future must rely on us now
And what actions we may take
We alone have the choice
Of what we do and how
We only have what we make
So let’s make it good, somehow

Inspirational message. There is a fever pitch of battle stirring. The voice of reason must prevail or watch us all fall.
