I have been dealing with Depression since I became Allergic to Latex. I was unable to work any more, because Latex particles I inhaled into my
lungs. Now I have Respiratory problems. The Doctors at that time did not understand Latex Allergy. Some Doctors did not believe that Latex Allergy was so bad, it was all in my mind.
1) Depression

Depression Is the Monster That Lives Within Me

Depression is the Monster that lives within me
Sometimes I cry so hard that my eyes are swallow
And it seems as though my tears won't

Stop flowing down my cheeks
In my despair is so convicting that I fell lost and alone
This Monster that I call depression
He takes me by the hand
He takes me to a place where I fall, fall and continue
To fall until darkness surrounds me
I don't even know why he follow me
I know how he finds me
But he is there waiting lurking and always
Ready to Devourer me
I don't know how I arrived at this place
Where emptiness just Smile at Me
Depression has its own Mine and Spirit
He puts me in a hole where all of the tunnel walls
Led me to more dark tunnel walls
I try to climb out there is no ladder or a rope to escape
I even try to fight him with my boxing gloves on
But at times his Manipulative voice over powers me
So I lose again time after time
I am on my knees praying that this
Monster which he call himself Depression
Leave me alone!
Taunting me in my dreams where I thought I was safe
From being Victimized
No! Never! He tells me with  Smirk on his face
Then he just laughs
He believes that his Wisdom is Great and that he will
Always have me feeling Pessimistic
I sit alone with Silence
Until I hear my heart shatter like a Crystal Glass
Faith! Faith! I am calling your name
Can you hear me?
Smile at me and show me your Wisdom
Allow me to touch your Spirit and embrace Intelligence
Look for Love for me
Tell her that I need her light
So my shattered Heart can be mended
Then the healing can begin
The Monster Depression will have no place
For his Wisdom within me
My Heart would then be free like a flower blooming
In the Spring time
Awakening from a deep Sleep
Full of Beauty and Love

Hi Marion this is a great poem and you are one of the few people I know that admits the battle between good and evil that so often attack us. I defend that depression battle with this scripture. 2nd Corinthians Chapter 1 verse 7 : God hasn't given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and a sound mind! You are a very Gifte poetess welcome to Authorden. Peace!!!
