I am a cliff
at the base
of Neptune’s kingdom.
We gaze into each other eyes.
Sacred silence.
He whispers with the drone of the waves
“Another age will come to pass.”
In the reverberating swell
I can hear persistently repeated
“Suffering is power
if it is tamed.”
He softens my stiff stone heart
with his wavy hands.
From me is
streaming bright white light
—beach foam.

This is terrific. It flows with beautiful grace. I really enjoyed the imagery your words evoked and of course that terrific painting you included really adds to the atmosphere. Beautiful!
