I can write about anything under
The sun, moon and stars;
But as far as I can see,
That’s too much complexity.
May be I can write about nature,
But that’s what Wordsworth did.
Or may be sonnets and Haiku
But I am no Shakespeare, nor am I as old.
So then what can I write about?
How about scenic beauty or morals?
But then it will be put in a text book,
And children will yawn and curse
“Who wrote this poem, you?”
I want to write something new,
What one can read and smile.
Because that is what we need.
So can I write on Humour?
But that too has been done before.
So finally what can I write about?
Right from the start of this poem,
Right upto the end,
I could not answer my own question.
But I sure did one thing -
I narrowed down what I can’t write about,
And in the process,
I Wrote !!

This poem has a riddle-like feel to it that charms the senses. I like to pay serious attention to the feeling I get before I write something. Some of my best stuff was written with the knowledge that I was about to write something great. I felt it in my bones beforehand. This poem showcases the desire all writers get to write something great, and how astonishing it is when we do. Welcome to the Den:) Hugs,
