My dreams that blazed in fires of youth–
The rising flames revealing truth–
Extinguished now by winds of time,
Lie cold as ash, no more to climb.
The brightness dimmed; the fervor gone–
The dusk replaced a golden dawn.
Reality–a sad embrace
Of perished dreams I did not chase.
So now I hold not what I dreamed,
But only that which prudence deemed.
Security still ends in death;
Too late to take life’s sweetest breath.
Absolutely wonderful!
Thanks so much
