Jesus Gave Up His Rights
When Jesus went to the cross
he gave up all his rights
so that we could be forgiven
and be declared righteous in God's sight
He didn't deserve to suffer
an agonizing death on the cruel tree
but he did it out of his great love
to purchase salvation for you and me
If Jesus had not given up his rights
we would be forever lost
but He did give them up freely
to save us at such a tremendous cost
When Jesus laid aside his garments
to wash his disciples' feet
he gave up all his own rights
to teach us how to be humble and meek
Jesus willingly laid down his life for us
for the joy that was set before him
to see all the souls he would save
even though going to the cross looked very grim
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for all you went through
to save us and give us a home in heaven for all eternity.
It's all because of you Jesus that we can have our sins forgiven
and receive the gift of everlasting life absolutely free
Hebrews 12:2: Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God..
John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
