Life’s Purpose

Life is simply way too short, to spend worrying about the past

To always think on things I know are never going to last

I only pass this way but once, so a difference I should make

In the lives of those around me, I should give and never take

I should be concerned for others, and live by the golden rule

By showing acts of kindness, and trying never to be cruel

To value life and those I meet, to love all the ones I see

Is what the Bible says to do by showing Christ in me

I shouldn’t fret or worry about things I have no control

But giving it all to Jesus, should be my only goal

Why live with hate, regret, or spite, it eats us up inside

When my life can be filled with lasting peace, God will

willingly provide

How I choose to live my life, is entirely up to me

A life that’s sad and full of dismay or as happy as I can be

God wants the very best for me, but he’s given me that choice

To be completely miserable or be happy and rejoice

Life is simply way too short to just throw it all away

I want it to have meaning, make a difference along my way

To know the world is better for my having had a part

To show how good your life can be with Jesus in your heart

Perfect I can never be, but God will help me be my best

By trusting and obeying Him, I truly will be blessed

God has a purpose for my life, one life I have to live

I can do so very selfishly or to others I can give

God’s love was a shining example, He died to set me free

He gave his life upon a cross, because of his love for me

My life is but a short one, but one I hope will prove to be

One I never took for granted, one that showed God’s love in me.
