We've written some poetry, sang songs of joy,cried some words of sadness, owned and operated our 1st Freedom's Journal Newspaper, and even had an African American signature on U.S. paper currency.

To the first African American, Booker T Washington who was invited to dine at the White House to the to the 1st African American voted in to livein the White House, I say the world is changing and moving toward  a new and bright future.

I call this making history and I want to make history by doing the things I never thought I could do, and for the words I always tell my children, my grandchildren and even to my neighbors children, go and make us proud because I know you can be anything you set your mind to.

I want all the children of all color to follow closely and know that you can do this too.

It's been a long time since 911 when the morning bought such terror.  We wept together that day and long after that, but we stood as one and the love that we gave out was free and poured out like the air we breath.  

We'll,  another day has gone and the night has cleared and the day has brought sunshine to the tears we cried and tears that wept joy for what has become historically correct.

So I find joy when I look back and I know that three years ago I didn't even have a thought this day would come true .  Now I'm reading the paper and I see, I read that history has come once aganin.

I'm not afraid of prayer so I pray:

To the Father and the power I reach out and I say Thank you for making this day come true

To the Father I pray for the safety of the one we have chosen

To the Father and the power I am not ashamed to pray and to ask for you to bless this people, and this Country with strength, wisdom and knowledge, and I ask for the blessing soon because I know they have been waiting for peace and love too.

To the Father, the Lord of all Lord's, I pray for our salvation, I pray that you will take us out of this place in time into a new place where we will be totally free.

Damnation is a small word, but a big place I rather not be, so I pray that you will bestow upon us the right to keep the peace in and the division out.  

My Father and my power we can achieve this if your footsteps are the ones that lift our toes and heels to the right path. 

So I'll thank you now because I know you won't leave us standing where we can't find our way or move our legs and feet forward.

From the 1st African American to vote under the provisions of the amendment casting his ballot on March 31, 1870 and 138 years later an African American the 44th President, the world is not in regression but progressing.

We come along way, We been a lot of places, we've known our place, and know we have a place now.  

Thru courage from all races, we removed a boundary that was once set and set new limitless boundaries that made our voices heard and we took the I out of We and said it out loud:  "Yes We Can", We are American's and we are Proud.
