My Shack

I rumple through this thing called life,

my instrument,

my gig,

more work ,

my life,

my challenge,

my adventure

more work for me today than yesterday

as I almost slide into home plate

realizing that today and yesterday

wasn't a game

geared up in armor,

preparing for tomorrow’s struggles,

being approached by a day called the near future,

hoping,

hoping that it's mine, a day called the near future

I rumple through this thing I call my life

and I wonder where I’ll start today,

where I’ll end tomorrow

this is my challenge,

my life,

my wonder,

my change from,

my change to

and where nothing is exact,

although seeming that way, they’re not

my shack and the things in it

resemble life and

all the things in life resemble home,

I call life my shack,

my shack to do as I please;

throwing the old and worn out

and putting some things new in

interior decorating my life

is my challenge for  life,

my works to be done on this life,

means my life

my life resembles my shack,

my shack resembles life,

a change to,

changing a change from, and

daring one to change tomorrow's struggles,

if tomorrow comes...........

Beside Still Waters by Jill Eisnaugle

Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
