If you are not curious you will not learn! Be it about yourself, spouse, friend, children, nature or God. What are you curious about in your daily life?

How often are you curious about your furniture or your picture frame in your living room?

Not often?

Why not?

You do not expect them to change and they may not matter to you anyway.

How often do you listen to a person you “know”?

You probably don’t!

If you “know” them then there is nothing new to learn about them.

Knowing is the end of your curiosity!

How often do you look into your spouse’s eyes?

How often do you listen carefully to a conversation?

How often do you look into a mirror with curiosity?

Curiosity ends when we assume.
Curiosity ends when we take people for granted.
Curiosity ends when we think we “know”.

Our modern day lives seems to rush us past the the obvious ways to conduct ourselves. We half listen, and you are correct when you use the word 'assume.' My daughter told me one day, "Dad, you should never assume."

Great poem and message Shervin, and I agree: Learning ends when there is no curiosity.

And the contradiction implicit in your tale:
God made us curious
God gave us a brain, and he expects us to use it.
But curiosity ends when we accept religion--any religion--as the truth.
Therefore, religion is anti-god.

We must never stop being "curious" for if we do, we stop learning. Thank you for sharing, Shervin. Love and peace,

So much that we need to learn, so much that we need to listen to, so much we need to read, even this little poem! Well done , Shervin!

Many people like to make assumption on other people's lives without personally really getting to know them first. They often misread another's words, and make their own conclusion. How sad!!!

You are right in your poem about "curiosity". It is good to have curiosity about another, and it ends too soon when we begin to make assumption in others. We must read into another's words carefully and not jumping into conclusions by ourselves about them. What others do in their lives are them, it has nothing to do with us. But to misread others and then write mocking poetry about others is totally wrong. We all need to learn, and we all need to grow up; but unfortunately some people will never grow mentally.

Karma Bank to Following By Listening by Chiemi

These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
