Baby, it hurts so so bad ......

Poem Artwork

Loneliness holds me prisoner,

placing its wedge within my soul,

tears drip down my heart, yet no-one sees,

I often, try to drown it out with a sweet smile, but it only hurts worse,

caressing me with its power,

hiding the sphere that rages deeper,

I try desperately to fight back,

my shield of hope broken,

God hear my desperate soul cry,

Shield me again,

whatever I do always seems wrong in others eyes,

I Often cry alone,

Beautifully pale,

Abused and Forgotten,

my body aches for happiness,

honesty, and peace,

I want comfort love,

some light to embrace this awful pain,

my anguished heart cries to me,

my hours are long,

so very long,

I watch white clouds in the heavens,

freely passing time,

floating in a dream,

sometimes I wish I could just fade away,

and be hurt no-more,

but the bruises linger,

stinging me,

burning within my lone heart,

it really stings,

Life ..... Death, groaning threats,

being victimized,

emotionally shattered,

burnt, bruised and broken,

my body aches so badly with pain,

today was

its chosen time,

to break my soul,

silently waiting,

like a thief,

to be a part of me,

to torture me again,

calling to my lonely heart !

yes, it is so true. sometimes we try to hide our grief with a smile, but it hurts even more inside us. Sometimes it is so dark that we can't see the light.

But still, as Rose said, try to stay positive.

Percy B Shelley has truly described in his poem "Ode to the west wind";
If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?

take care

Valerie,
Your words speak the misery of a reality empowered by our innate need for each other & the gift of love that separates us from the burdons perils weight as you describe in "Lonelyness"
Love opens the doors to embrace, we must allow the door to open....

Oddly enough, I can identify with this. I have seen places so dark that nobody ever should live there... and yet evil sometimes overshadows good... until the spirit is either broken, or pushes through to prevail. We seek like souls with which we can bolster and rebuild our spirits; for the human spirit, nurtured properly, is the most resilient element in the universe. Wonderfully deep write Valerie. -- Jeff
