Oh God,
please won't you hear me?
I swear I've tried my best,
I've tried to be so good
but even you don't seem impressed.
I'm so ashamed of my life
I don't know the way to go,
I don't know my bible,
but dear God I need you so.
Nobody came to save me
when I cried my way through sleep,
and nobody came to drag me from
the void I crafted deep.
And nobody seemed to want me
when I needed them to shine
and all I ask is- someone-
love me like I'm worth the time.
Oh God,
please can't you save me?
I'm lost in all I try
I'm- smiling, laughing, loving-
dying in my secret lie.
Forgive me for my cursing
and my self-obsessive ways,
Please lift me from the gutter
of my heavy, broken days.
Forgive me for my taking
and my scarcely giving back,
forgive my greed of costly things
and let me find my track.
Oh lead me God, I ask you,
please lead me on my way,
and show me all the greater things
that I have thrown away.
Please help me find my beauty
'neath a mask of modern day,
on the inside, Lord please guide me,
or else let me fade away.

Another good one...very emotional and well-worded. I like the way you write! :-) April

This is beautiful. A powerful prayer, and very well written.
This is a very deep and emotional piece...well spoken and an in earnest prayer. Speaking from my own experience, When I thought that I was the most alone and scared...HE was not absent from my trial, but there. Take care....
