In memory of those lost in the Oklahoma Bombing on April 19, 1995. Written by Diane Compagno AKA Marie Cloud
IN AN INSTANT
By Diane Compagno AKA Marie Cloud
Once standing proud and tall
A building, secure and safe for all
When suddenly, a deafening sound
Fire and smoke were all around
Crumpled rocks and jagged steel
Oh dear God, could this be real?
Ceilings now where floors once lay
The building’s side was blown away
Cement beams fell like pick-up-sticks
For this there would be no quick fix
No longer sounds of children’s laughter
Only charred remains left after
How could a simple working day
Be plunged into such disarray?
Some had been spared, they know not why
They held each other too stunned to cry
Blood on their cheeks instead of tears
Too much shock, now only fear
Few were saved from this tragic fate
For some twisted hunter, they were but bait
This incident touched me so much that I had to write this poem that horrible day. I am not trained in the art of poetry. This came from my heart and sadness in tribute to all of those poor souls lost that day.

This is a book of free verse poetry that addresses the seven main tests in life and offers some sensible solutions to passing those tests with minimal discomfort.
