When poets die the world rarely weeps
or mourns the passing of a voice.
To be fair they rarely rejoice, out loud:
Though they might think “good riddance
to that ornery old cuss", they seldom say so.
Instead they quote something they don’t
understand out of context from an early work
and say that was what the poet was all about –
never realizing that the poet's life is the Poem
the “poems” are just words randomly lifted
from the stream of time. Poetic fewmeats
that show only the beast was once here.
When a poet dies the world rarely weeps
Nor mourns the passing of a Voice

We can all leave a legend in our lives, if only to our families and friends and neighbors. I hope I don't get non remembered when I die, I want to be remembered for the goods I tried to do in my life.
As Lin said below, you definitely speak the truth, but as long as other poets remember the passed one, then his/her words go on forever...good to see ya, John...Ed
Contraband Marriage, traveling along the hemline of loving after incarceration, is a love story written in lyric and free form, set in reality with a different ever after.
