Easily forgotten
Always misused
Lied to
Beaten
Threatened
Angered
Left home at a young age
Wanted the freedom from pain
Thoughts that were once hers now doesn’t exist
Pain is all around her
Fear is filling up her mind along with her heart
Where is the love that every child should have
It’s no where
Where is the safety that all girls should feel
It never existed
Where is the love a mother should give to her child
There is no such thing as love
All that pain going both ways
Staying home was excruciating
Leaving home was heartbreaking
Finding a new place to be who she wanted to be
But that place was never free
She left home for hell
She left hell for home
She can’t go back even if she wanted to
There’s nothing left for her
Nothing she can wrap her arms around
There’s nothing that she can claim as her own
Except the fear that’s been born in her
This life was not the one she wanted
A life of a lost teen
