Poem Artwork

I am an empty urn left out
in the rain to collect the jewels
of heaven, and to create from
them a tapestry of a mortal life
travelling this road to the
promised land of heart and soul.
I grow old as I walk here,
I breathe in from fragrant
hemispheres of scent and sound
which surround the levels
of my humanity.

Humility learned, gratitude
realized through awakening of
the warmth and soft touch
of Love and of heart...
Depart from the shadow ~
walk through the meadow
of fragrant, youthful memories;
ebbing seas and fairs
filling the child with excitement
and thrilling recants of days
gone by, as they graduate into
the solace and trials of maturity
and self-knowing.

I come to realize that there are
no cloudy skies in the reach of
His promise to us that day
as He left mortal existence and
the rage of sin behind.
Covered in forgiveness, blessed
with the life and the innocence
of this Son of God ~ we walk
toward a common light...away
from the darkness of night
and into the warm and bless
èd
pardon of His love for each
and every one of us.

Appearing above you, music plays,
and angels watch over with a chorus
of peace and healing, cherub
and seraphim flutter freely
in the hue of Holy promise and care,
while the trials of man
seem strewn and sequined
with tears of despair.
Look up at the wings of peace,
they drift and flow above you,
awaiting the touch of reclaim
from this mortal hand.

And, in this land of peace
and hopeful dreams, we
are embraced by the arms
of acceptance, and comforted
in all of our needs.
Bless this child in their understanding
of Holy trials and wondrous deeds.
