Your Memory

AUTHOR'S NOTE: I appreciate the rawness in beauty, thus I denied myself the right to re-edit this and place in a rhyme scheme.

Life carries out so many ironies
but somehow, this one tops them all.
Who ever thought your memory
would be the inspiration; my brutal fall?

Sometimes things get so much better,
but sometimes things get worse,
regardless of, the pain stays;
this is just an irreversible curse.

All my thoughts are drawn back to you
and everything seems to be
an awful memory to remind me of
that one day of barbaric agony.

Since your memory has passed away
I find myself dependent on its lesson.
For everything I find myself in,
to your memory, I find myself in regression.

Your memory makes me stronger,
it has reminded me how to heal.
With all the things I've lived on to do,
your memory has provided the zeal.

I used to be washed away in tears
but I've turned those into strengths.
There isn't anything I can't do now
because on my wounds I can bank.

Your absence is sometimes suffocating
and yet it is a strength all in its own.
Ironic how life has made me stronger
when I thought I was weak when alone.

'Life goes on,' this is quite true
and within that I made a new lesson learned.
For every tear I used to cry for you,
for every moment that my heart burned,

I have healed myself with the strength
of a memory buried within my skin.
I'm thankful for the pain I've experienced;
it put an end to where I must begin.

When I read these verses, I am amazed at how they fit my situation, Brittany Renée. I can so completely relate. This is probably because you write from your being so honestly and truly. Thank you. Love and peace,

Regis

Feel the excruciating pain in this pensive composition , Brittany..
Yea...Loving memories are the foundations of our new future , foundations on which we carve out a new life for ourselves..
Beautifully and tenderly written..

"Life carries out so many ironies
but somehow, this man taps them all!
Who ever thought your memory
keeps the treasure as I tape them all."

I like the feelings. Great.

INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL! Is is safe to say "you get better every day?"
You have GOT to keep doing this type of deeply emotive, introspective heart-rending writing! Wow! -- Jeff
