Fawning over precious limbs
that once reclined desire
rain would pour
my heart aching sore.
Burning deep there's a fire.

Daylight dances in the breeze
and I see you slowly rise,
but nothing's more
worth waiting for
than seeing midnight in your eyes.

Midnight sparkles;  river dance
that serenades my pain.
You soothe each ache,
each fall and break.
You make me whole again.

Precious keepsake diamond eyes
they haunt my pleasant dreams.
Little treasures
beyond measure
are the life to moon beams.

Your presence much consumes me
as patiently I wait.
Through dejection
love's resurrection
comes through your diamond bait.

Midnight flows like steady streams
and I wait for the storm's calm.
You have me chained;
slavery not feigned.
I'm eating out of your very palm.

Day shines beyond your halo
and my dreams are now at peace.
Rest assured
my love is blurred
between day and midnight conceit.
