Somewhere lies a child confused...
Too young to understand,
The trouble sometimes life befalls
A woman and a man.
And so he turns a deafened ear
From screaming down the hall,
But through his pillow voices rise
While piercing bedroom walls.
With parents bent on hearts that vent
So cold becomes his night,
And as he peers through sleepy tears,
He wonders why they fight.
As time goes on a silence grows
Between his mom and dad...
A spreading rust of lifes mistrust,
Consuming all they had.
Arrives a day there's nothing more
To give each others heart,
So mama takes her young mans hand
And pulls his life apart.
To understand is harder still
Upon his tender heart.
There are no words that ease the pain...
No reasons why they part.
Imbalanced now, his years grow long,
Yet grows he straight and tall.
Just like the man his father planned,
Without the fear to fall.
Then comes his day to taste lifes wine,
To leave the toys of youth behind,
To spread his wings of adult time,
And learn for what he lives.
Quite big of heart...now strong of hand,
A boy has grown into the man.
But lonely in his life he stands,
And feels he's incomplete.
Beginning then, he starts his search
For someones caring heart,
Hoping to fulfill his life
With love that cannot part.
Appears to him a woman there,
With body tender...face so fair,
And kindly does a kiss she share,
As pleasantly they greet.
In time their sun comes shining through,
With gifting from above.
Shining bright on both their lives,
And blessing both with love.
Arrives their long awaited day,
Of passions peak and young foreplay.
When urging deep within them grows,
And the driving that they cannot slow
Takes them where they both must go,
While in grassy fields they lay.
So comes a ring and vows for life,
For he the husband...she the wife,
Of love to share through good or strife,
As happily they wed.
Soon they come to have a home,
And reap rewards of love that's sown,
For now with child to call their own,
They feel their lives complete.
But soon will come a rearranging,
As life goes on...forever changing;
For as sure as wisdom comes with aging,
Love is sometimes cruel.
So comes the trials...the tribulations,
With every one of lifes frustrations.
As they learn each others aggravations,
It starts to take its toll.
When comes the change, their feelings slow,
Words can't be found-eyes lose the glow,
And what once they had, now doesn't show,
As confusion fogs their feeling.
Begins with them the separations...
The business trips become vacations,
Yes, with beauty sometimes comes temptation,
And he makes a great mistake.
Learning he can't hide the shame,
From she he loves...that shares his name,
For in his eyes she sees the blame,
Of a cheating heart that lied.
Comes their parting, their sorrow starting,
As they face the lonely fear,
And as time goes by they relize,
Loves loss with every tear.
Soon comes divorce and single lives,
No more husband...no more wife.
While in the dark their silent cries,
They share with no one there.
"Where's my daddy?" asks a child,
As sorrow wets her cheek.
"Daddy's gone to live alone,"
Her mother softly speaks.
While on the other side of town,
A man cries painfully.
A lonely man...with gun in hand,
Who ponders what's to be.
Fallen now from loves embrace,
He raises eyes to ceiling,
Asking Gods forgiveness should...
He end the guilt he's feeling.
But he'll survive another day,
To ask for her forgiving.
For abusing such a gift as love,
And transgressing in his living.
Yes through the years of countless tears,
They'll remember how they tried,
To make an empty house a home,
Though love could not abide.
But they know that time will heal their hearts,
And the emptiness within.
With the faith to face each mornings start,
They'll pray...love comes again.
