A faithful poem

Beloved Father of life, pray I may beseech thee.
I, a man of thy creation, humbly beg to know you, to show you, the hidden man within.
I, who have faltered in life, seek your understanding, deserves your reprimanding, yet asks for forgiving.
The elation of love you gift us with, among high walls of strife, do strengthen me for what's to be, in the future of my life.
I do not question, Holy One, for truly, where was I, when you graced the universe, and colored blue the sky?
Great and mighty be thy wisdom, glory to thy name!
Thy will be done, oh Mighty One;
for from thy breath I came.
Ye, oh blessed One of high, who gave unto me grace, did twinkle eye and light the sky;
with faith, you set my pace.
Ye, oh One of holiness, art the essence of my living.
With pleasing joy I praise thy name, and hope you hear my giving.
You gift me kind with inner peace;
with love, you light my way.
Pray let's walk another mile, and stay with me this day.
Ye, oh God, with wisdom wise, have resurrected life, so you might see the good in me, and cast away lives strife.
Oh exalted One of heaven high, pray open wide the door, so that I may enter freely there, and with the angels soar.
Ye, oh Holy One of endless time, give blessing to my living;
for with thee I know tranquility, and how abundant is thy giving.
Ye, Glorious One of all the ages, who rose me from the earths creation;
I shall glorify thy name aloud, confess of thee with pride, acknowledge you with praising faith, and a love that shall abide.
Each day I shall reach with heart, as waves yearn for the shore, to prove myself a worthy man;
to love you evermore.
