Dying With Sorrow

After each moment in time I come to see the pages of history pass me by

What would have happened that dark sultry night had we gone home

Would I be the same lonely man

Or would I be jovial in touch with reality
I cannot fathom the ideas of suppose

We made our decision to stop for a drink

As we sipped our drinks I kissed your lovely eye lids

Then we left for home and my nightmare began

He snarled at me and drew his little twenty two

Why on earth did you lunge in front of me

Pop,pop the devil in disguise fired his pistol

As you dropped and spilled your blood over my new blue shirt

I go on living with remorse

But I am dying with sorrow, and a broken heart

I do hope this is fiction, Tony, for the unbearable pain associated with losing someone this way is heartwrenching! Very well penned.

A very vivid story that reveals an infinite world of remorse and loneliness in a relatively few words. It opens a plethora of "what if's" that beg for another chance, another choice, another time! Advice from a devout believer in "Let Go, Let God."

Tony: After such a tragic loss it’s only you who can abandon your fear and loneliness and choose to engage again in a purposeful existence.  It’s only you who can find your way back onto the path with intention and purpose.

God Bless You,
Deborah

Tony,
This is deeply moving and tragic
and horrible, and you deliver it
with strength but never deny your true feelings
or try to cover up in any way.
Stay well, my friend.

John
