Recently, while reviewing a poem by Pat Medlin, (titled: Here, try my glasses) I became motivated to write this one.
MOTIVATION Wine & Music the stereo on “random” volume cranked to the max a glass of favored wine yet I still can’t quite relax “rose colored glasses” a second glass of wine slowly becoming more mellowed beginning gradually to unwind to the “blues” feeling sad mix in a little “country” then turn up the volume to smooth a road that’s bumpy a quick roll in the grass now clearly in the garden call her on the phone beg and plead her pardon. a mistake once made apologies extended consequences remain relationship now ended “the stereo on “random” volume cranked to the max a glass of favored wine yet I still can’t quite relax” *Copyright* *© 2011 Richard Lee King. Thanks for this, and for directing attention to Pat's poem. Bandaids are necessary, come in all shapes and sizes, and though temporary as the wounds they cover, hurt is hurt and even looking at a scar can sting. Rose-colored glasses indeed. Good writing. ~~ Diana
