FRACTURED FABLE
#10 BETTY BOOP
I was sitting on the stoop
talkin with Miss Betty Boop
when this cowboy came riding by
and he chanced to catch her eye.
He said, “I been ridin fer a spell
I’m tired and dirty as hell,
carryin ever thing that I own
an I’m a lookin to rest my bones.”
She said, “I’ve lots of beds
where you can lay yer head
after, of course, you have bathed
and taken the time to shave.
The bath is a buck, the bed is three
and we’ll throw feedin ya in for free.
Dinner is served, promptly at seven
the lights go out at eleven.
Ain’t no better deal ya can find.
an to help ya make up yer mind,
I’ve got a new bottle of tequila
lessen ya think it will kill ya.
And then, maybe after dinner,
if I’m a thinkin yer a winner,
we’ll make use of that tired bone
lessen you prefer sleepin alone.”
Well by the look in his eye
I knew his decision was nigh,
and it had nothing to do with bathin
and certainly not with shavin.
It wasn’t soft pillows or clean sheets,
most definitely he was in heat.
He was fixin to jump through her hoop,
he was eager to bop Betty Boop,
I was sitting on the stoop
talking with Miss Betty Boop
when this cowboy came riding by
and he chanced to catch her eye.
Well, I left them there
thinking they’d make a great pair
cause he seemed like a man you could trust,
which for Ms. Betty Boop, was a must.
