For Christopher Kies

I had forgotten life with you,
With your essence –
A perfect essence –
Of everything pure;
I had been lost without faith,
Blind without hope,
Until I was allowed to remember.

Remembrance of a foreign emotion
Is a gift.
It is joy and bliss;
And entitled "love."
Considered the uttermost prize
In this game of love,
It is but an honor
For the few and fragile familiar.

Subtleties of emotion
Feed remarkable memories,
As it is always the little things
That matter quite the most.
Quiet kisses,
And silent stares,
Share more than words
Could ever pray to express.

How does meaning filter
From a kiss?
How does silence
Harken love?
A deepened sense
Of truth
Feeds the beautiful mystery
Of emotion.

For long,
I had known no life with you.
The essence of perfection,
Was you.
My dreams portrayed
That mysterious essence;
If only I had known
It was you.

However, current is not a past dream;
Now cannot be forgotten.
If hope may slip,
Love provides safety.
As you caught me
As I fell,
And now I falter no more.

A good nite to my prince;
Shall you visit my dreams awakened.
