A red moon rolls across the horizon,
and dark serpents and lizards emerge
from the bottom of the dry sea.
The world sleeps, and never sees them.
Stars are the gods of serpents,
for the serpents cannot see the stars,
but the stars look down on serpents.
Men walk on two legs,
to be able to see the stars.
Their god had to retreat behind the red sky.
But no men are here.
Animals dream of light,
and run from the night in their sleep.
The moon becomes pale,
and high in the sky,
parodies the sun with the sun's own light.
