I'm not the same man,
Run fingers down my arm and hold a foreign hand,
My muscles rubber bands, feet filled with sand,
I lost my wise lips, my soul, my goals, my quickness,
To a sickness.
Fight a fiend dispersing death within,
How can I look in a mirror, lose me and find him.
Where did I sway my course, are You smiting this sinner?
Conquering an ankle split me in two,
A weak tainted boy and a man within; you.
True to my course, pacifism over force,
Why now leave my eyes tinted, throat burning hoarse.
One boy becomes terce, finding his hearing much worse,
Hold me someone, stop this head spinning,
Know the consequences to desert, but I'm not even winning.
Thinning the red army with cancer,
But the blood of this poor bastard,
Knows the struggle well, raise hell and this heart beats faster,
Skirting disaster flirting with his death bind,
Let the boy within the man watch his heart stop.
No! Clear the mind, don't fear the blind,
As you turn you're eyes one-eighty,
Find the calm center, discover he doesn't hate me.
Silly boy, this dying curse was to teach you the struggle,
Rise up only to your knees, freedom comes quick to those humble.
Dumb one, young gun, breathe easy, the meek has won,
The men lost in time, mere boys to those in heaven,
Race with new flight, view reflection and find it's Evan!
A composition bearing profound contents poetized with words from the lexicon of a growing soul; delivering an ontological and theleological poetic excellence.
"Fighting This Sickness" is a striking reading from a writing that brings Poetry its glowing and art.
