Please keep me safe within your arms
Protect me from the worldly harms
Always assure me that you’re there
Should moments become much to bear
Surround my heart, just like a shield
So that my strength shall be revealed
Then tell me softly, so I’ll know
That, from me, you’ll never let go.
 
Please keep me safe, come dark of night
Be my protector in the fight
Should nightmares come, scare them away
Keeping my evil fears at bay
Stay here beside me, ‘til the dawn
You are the one that I count on
To walk the line, keeping the peace
So that my trepidations cease.
 
Please keep me safe ‘til journey’s end
Be my companion and my friend
Share your uncanny love with me
Since I am sure you would agree
Our lives should not be spent alone
Some hearts should not live on their own
We were destined to join as one
Safely in love ‘til life is done.

I do have the feeling I am safe after reading the poem. You put your heart and soul into this one. Feeling safe is a nice thing, cause fears take a lot out of us and make us unwell. Thanks for the write from your heart.

Beautiful, Jill, the sheltering arms of love - I was saying last night, "Keep me safe," but it was because of storm - again - bumpy ones! A break today, more tomorrow, a break Saturday, more storms Sunday - eNOUGH! LOL Still, these lines are lovely - comforting - well done.

I think the first verse reveals a wonderful aspect of a safe and secure love--when he is protective and supportive of her, she in turn becomes strong. Beautiful words of an ideal love relationship.
