Poem Artwork

I am but a leaf, pinned on an old oak tree
Which stands alone at the edge of time,
Or a simple word in gentle verse
Which seeks to find its rhyme.
I am a flattened skipping stone
Found at river’s edge,
Or the freshest wisp of morning air
Breathed on mountain's ledge.
I am but a grain of sand
On the planet’s longest beach,
I am a salmon come to spawn,
Swimming just out of reach.
I am borne of this universe,
And to it I’ll return,
Changed by all that I have seen,
And by the lessons I have learned.

MMM! Delicious in the way that it trips softly over the tongue and falls softly as a stream gurgling over moss covered stones. You brought the feelings of peace and light and joy of life out in this write. So gentle... so peaceful... Helping me to look for the little, finer things of life.
