Robbery

                                    She lives from each day’s work,
                                    excepting this small saving.
                                    Now it’s gone
                                    and what is she to do?
 
                                    Trembling hands frame her face,
                                                two bookend
                                                on a shelf,
                                    volumes of horror in between.
