A Mom Like No Other

This was a poem I wrote for my mom on her 85th birthday. With Mother's Day a few days away, I'd like to share my words.

Poem Artwork

Here we are, together, Mom,

to celebrate your day.

It brings great joy to all of us

as we take this time to say.

You’ve been a mother we’ve admired,

and looked up to through the years.

You have always known just what to do

to wipe away our tears.

The memories of our childhood

are always fine to ponder

The happy home you made for us

is to others, only a wonder.

We appreciate your caring love,

your selfless and thoughtful way.

You give yourself so graciously

throughout each and every day.

Also true for our partners and kids,

Never is love barred there.

You have a heart with plenty of room.

Other mom’s would never compare.

So smile with us and be proud of yourself,

of the wonderful mother you are.

There’s no one else in the world like you.

You’re our mom and our shining star.

I could not have said it better..My Mom passed at 98 on 2/28/15 and I wish I had one more day to talk and have wished her Mother's Day. She was in Hospice and I told her- I planned on celebrating Mothers Day- the next day-which was Feb 28..My Mom was funny- she gave me a way to remember the day -it was her final gift to me. So Celebrate your Mom and enjoy those wonderful moments. also Donna Marie

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
