This is anothe of the poems from my book, "Acorns of Love and Wisdom." Love, as an emotion, takes over human perception and is impossible to control. It is a "thing" that happens and those it happens to can only take "the ride." Love is a heady expereience and this poem explores that experience.

HUMAN NATURE


From the depths of my being
Surging toward the surface of limited awareness
Comes a feeling, which escapes my words
Yet sets my perception awash
When I am with you

What is this magnetism
This affinity for another
That sucks one into the emotional vortex
Of yearning, of caring
Of desiring another?

Only when we exchange understanding
Through the conveyance of our eyes
Does pacification come
Only when your skin touches mine
When your words caress my ears
When I taste your lips
Does the flood of sensitivity
Breach the boundaries of knowledge
Does experience slip beyond
