A poem that blames the importance of oil in the world's oil-based economy as the cause of recent economic woes.
*REcession dePRESSION* *Recession reflects a crisis with the cash nexus,* *Public and private policies that perplex us.* *Unwelcome hands pick pockets on Wall Street.* *Everybody’s looking for victims to beat and cheat.* *Bernie, Fannie, Freddie, ponzi and cookbook schemes* *Have shattered many American Dreams.* *Recessionary troubles haven’t abated* *Because the virtues of capitalism are overrated.* *Greenspan and Bernanke didn’t want to admit it,* *Yet, found that Wall Street and greed have no limit.* *Greed is the catalyst that causes the storm.* *Instead of retreating, it continues as the norm.* *Cash is scarce and in great demand,* “UNperSONS” manipulate the markets they command.* *The prices increase and never decline* *In order to justify business bottom line.* *The middle class is caught in a revolving door,* *With conditions worse than ever before.* *Politics of not many in the land of plenty are recessive,* *Make this nation and its people maniacally depressive.* *Manufacture, production, service & transportation* *Are oil-related expenses that plague every nation.* *Since this chaotic, economic meltdown began,* *Everyone wants to hold on to a bird in the hand.* *Money moguls have more Eagles than they can hold,* By manipulating the supply of Specie, silver, oil and gold. Creating demands for a commodity that all nations need Is the strategy necessary for a recession to succeed. Every oil-based economy go into an uproar Each time Crude prices begin to soar. Has P.O.T.U.S. FORGOT US* *By looking out for everybody, but not us?* *Mr. President stop shooting the breeze.* *Impose a petroleum price freeze.* *In a world with an oil-based economy,* *The bottom line is money, money & mo’ money!* *Inflationary indexes go up with the price of gas & oil,* *Cause unrest, civil and military turmoil.* *Politics of not many in the land of plenty are repressive.* *Stop making, we the people, maniacally depressive.* UNperSONS are the unnatural citizens created under Section I of the 14^th Amendment to the U. S. Constitution, i. e., companies, corporations and other non-human/unnatural entities. Each of the economic downturns in American History has been influence by an attempt to manipulate commodities of the marketplace, i. e., specie, greenback, land, copper, silver, gold, oil, etcetera. The intervention of the national governments have staved off one disaster after another. P. O. T. U. S. is the acronym for President of the United States. ©January 4, 2011**

Johnny, my only concern is that at the pace we've set as a nation, it would not surprise me that in another ten years, there may not be a middle class. Nice writing.
