Merciless Sky
Wide-open horizon space under a hazy sky
The pot-holed road points to no-where
Winds hurl dust where once stood trees
And manna fell from indigo heaven
A suitcase called ‘responsibility’ on my right I carry
And on my left one labeled ‘love’
In truth, they do feel heavy,
Both
A raincoat bleached under a merciless sky
Calendar leaf scribbles of faded ink
Out off my empty pocket
Are blown to dust
How did Amelia Earhart feel
High above the ocean
Gas running low, and
No landing in sight?
Hitch-hiking toward a setting sun
Yearning sapphire water springs
To cleanse my soul
Before
Life
Ends
