Autumn has always been my favorite season. This Autumn, when I am turning 50, may be my most precious and beautiful so far.
The trees in the city where I live are colored more gloriously than I have seen them before.
More wonderful, special people have come into my life...even if only briefly. Although this is also causing me great pain. My heart hurts so, when people come into my life, and I would like to keep them there, but they go out again.
As I think about these special souls who come in and out of my life, I realize something magical about some of them. They have had unstable or life-threatening, sad beginnings to their lives. Yet they and God knew they needed to be in this world of ours. They are living proof of miracles, and strength, goodness and love. These souls create moments of magic in other peoples lives...they have in mine. I think of them as elusive Unicorns who pass through my life reminding me that I have a loving heart. And even though my heart breaks when they leave, I know another will come along to heal my heart for even a little while.
Maybe some day, some where, some time One will come along to stay in my life forever. That is my dream.
I don't know how or why yet, but I do believe this is my special Autumn.
I HAVE LIVED A LONG TIME...THANKING GOD FOR 65 YEARS OF LIFE AND I HAVE COME TO LOVE THIS REVELATION THAT I RECENTLY READ....'GOD'S ANSWERS ARE ALWAYS WISER THAN OUR PRAYERS'. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS HOPE HAS BEEN FULFILLED IN YOUR LIFE BUT I DO KNOW...YOUR LIFE IS IN GOD'S HANDS AND HIS BEST BLESSINGS ARE ALWAYS YOURS...WHAT IS HIS BEST FOR US? NEITHER YOU NOR I KNOW BUT WHATEVER THAT IS...IT IS HIS PERFECT WILL. THANKS FOR SHARING THIS TOUCHING WORK....ENJOYED.
JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
Even though written in 2003 it still pertains to Fall today. Things don't change all that much with the fall colors. I was looking for your poem Fall colors, but found this one instead. Good write, always appreciate the turning of the seasons and poetry to go with them.
The 'Fall',
something about Autumn, the soft season, not like quiet winter or rowdy summer or bursting spring.
Autumn softens the year and saddens our hearts. It is the bittersweet of the year, when we can reflect, pause, sigh and go on.
Thank you for reminding me of all the autumns in my life.
