My Happy Place

by Michael Charles Messineo — Read all 96 poems by Michael Charles Messineo

Everyone needs a happy place... or a special someone to reverse the negative vibes in their life.

Tuesday, July 31, 2007

I never saw that coming, the last time I was there,

I sensed a big frustration, the way you twined your hair.

You seemed to be off thinking, wonder where you were.

Even quiet whispers, could hardly make you stir.

You were not your normal self, you were someone new.

A stranger I had never met, whose rose had turned to blue.

Your wall of hesitation, had taken it’s first bow.

You became my puzzle, to solve you, wonder how.

The key to your locked feelings, seemed lost, forever gone.

I wondered if your magic smile, could ever right the wrong.

Then when things looked finished, you came up for air.

You found the magic ladder, to escape from your despair.

You released your feelings, saying what you thought.

You weighed on my responses, if your story I had bought.

You were real and honest, holding nothing back.

Thanks for candid feelings, I’m glad we’re back on track.

Yes you are my happy place, I need you to survive.

You give me special energy, my soul you do revive.

You keep me sane and focused, appreciate my style.

You are so amazing, always turning up my dial.
