Oh God, My God
What had You in mind
When first You planned my birth;
For what purpose did You bind
My life down here on earth?

To long I strayed
from childhood faith;
and followed my own path;
Chasing some elusive wraith
oblivious of God's wrath.

My life You watched
Through all those years
and in my moments of despair;
You knew my pain, shared my tears
Protected me from evils' snare.

Oh God, My God
Your hand You stayed
and in Your mercy waited;
When in time, to You I prayed
In me was new life created.

And now, My God
I walk with You,
Worldly longings rendered hollow;
Because Your Word I know is true
Your chosen path I follow.
