He bares scars
reminants of a past
almost forgotten.
Battles fought in the light of day
enemies in disguise
hiding among the rest of us
armed with blades
hoping to catch us alone.
Some marching unaware
other fighters battle weary
oozing pain like sweat
and hope for the future.
Your words fill me with apprehension for someone in such a position of guarded fear. I suppose there are people like this and we need to, as poets, reveal their anguish and pain so that these kinds of hidden activity can continue without seeing the light of reason. Certainly, by revealing, there is hope for the future.
