 Five instants of unapparent wholeness

I

There are subtle touches of a strangely harmonic disharmony;
maybe those instants between cocoon and coming out.

Form does not persist, nor does it define what creates it.

You walk by a caterpillar, drilling the green, dark, of a leaf -
and do not recognize the butterfly, clear, that flutters by you.

II

It would not be too long before the ground became ceiling;
before she inverted the growth of grass and subverted the course of springs;
before she disrobed herself of blue and green became her cover.

She would rise, when night falls upon that side where the day dies
and yet ascends, made sun, on that other side -
where she would merge with the roots of all that grows,
on the third, the ninth, or any other moon, full.

III

But she was digressing; a defect; or maybe an effect of old.

Yes, of a time when, like a small critter, for lack of a refuge - or whenever others, albeit with no ill intent, turned her refuge into an open field with pack and foot followers - she would hide, precisely, in the freedom of digressing; within herself, in that space, unique – that blend of obscure forest and secret glade in her core.

They would reach her there, their voices – but too diluted to disturb her. Then, all of a sudden, a paradox would happen, and she would be the one who reached them, the unsuspecting voices, from there. Oblivious, they would fall prey of her audacity, almost a spell that transformed them into whatever she wanted;

And that could be, indistinctively, the rumor of invisible birds in the trees, the dry sound of branches cracking under undefined paws, the buzz of bees around tufts of heather…

… Or a mere breath of wind.

IV

Later, she blossomed
as if it were earlier;

 a foot in the light -
and the head, a corolla
of dawning honey
still in the shade.

V

Like all water is, in essence, free
- even when contained, it evaporates;
and yet remains water, in essence -

Such is, in essence, the word.

Elegance of emergence transpiring. Your words bloom an incandescent halo over processes endemic to spring. A lovely write, dear one.
Love and warmth of the season to you.

Speaks to my soul, Alexandra, and the times when words are "still in the shade" and awaiting the sun. I too have hidden my core in that "secret glade". Very fine work!
