What happened to the guy that loved me so

What happened to the one whom my smile was enough for

Where did the light in you go?

I heard you are happy now

Heard you went and found you the ONE you are proud of

What makes you proud of her?

Does she rub your feet better than I did after a long day?

Does she make you tea and give you a warm bath when you feel ill as I did.

Does she understand your dreams and wills you on like I did?

Or is it just stuff in the bedroom that matters?

Even that, I know you will never find one better than me.

I hear your friends say you tell them you found the one

Why is that?

You always told me I was the one.

The one that made your sun rise even on rainy and cloudy days

The one you couldn’t wait to get home to

The one you loved to lay your head down at night next to.

Now you have given my title to another.

I love you enough to hope you find happiness.

Everyone tries to make me regret you for all I gave.

They try to make me see you as selfish

They try to make me see you as a cheater

They try to make me see you as an opportunist “boy”

I have too much love in my heart for you still

I hold out hope not for you to come back

And not the monster everyone else portrays.
